The future of baseball takes the spotlight as MLB Spring Breakout returns March 19–22, featuring 16 games showcasing the top prospects in Minor League Baseball. With players like Kevin Alvarez, Xavier Neyens, and Walker Janek representing Houston, it’s a chance for Astros fans to see the next wave of talent before they reach the big leagues.
But while the prospects are getting attention, the biggest story from Astros camp might be the pitching depth. Houston spent the offseason adding arms, and it’s paying off with strong spring performances from Tatsuya Imai, Mike Burrows, Ryan Weiss, and Kai-Wei Teng, while even non-roster pitchers like Peter Lambert and Christian Roa are pushing for roster spots.
At the same time, injuries are starting to shape the Opening Day picture.
