Today’s is a tough one—but a beautiful one: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Only when I understand the meaning of meekness will I fully grasp the blessing of meekness. And this is the blessing that awaits the meek who know Jesus Christ—you’re guaranteed everything!

Psalm 5, known as a morning psalm, finds David crying out in prayer to the Lord in the midst of his pain and sorrow. Yet even as he suffers, David is able to rejoice because he trusts God's faithfulness and goodness. He knows that the Lord is the only true source of joy - nothing else can satisfy his hungry heart! David understands that prayer is the essential ingredient to the 'secret recipe' for rejoicing. Let's listen today and discover the secret recipe for joy!

Christ's birth over 2000 years ago is arguably the greatest event ever to take place in history. The Son of God left his mighty throne in heaven, to take on flesh and to be born into a fallen world. He lived a perfect life and died an excruciating death, but then, he was raised to life and now sits on his throne in heaven. Through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus brought peace to this world by providing a way for sinners to be reconciled to the Father. This is the reason we still celebrate his birth today - the day that God's love came down.

James concludes his letter with an exhortation to fellow Christ-followers to go after those who have wandered from the truth. Believers are to look out for each other and encourage one another to remain steadfast in their commitment to Christ and obedience to God. If we see someone getting tangled up in sin, we ought to consider ways to love and lead that person to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. The true believer will then be restored and reconciled to Christ who forgives a multitude of sins.
