Show Notes
Your host, Doug Noll, talks with the Founder, CEO, and Chairman of LiveOne, Rob Ellin. Rob's journey into the intersection of tech and entertainment began over 40 years ago when the idea of companies like Apple, Amazon, and Google dominating the content world seemed far-fetched. Rob was fortunate to cross paths with Jack Friedman, a visionary CEO who built THQ, and Jackson and recognized the unique opportunity at the convergence of media and technology.
One of the groundbreaking projects involved Catapult, a technology firm that enabled gaming across phone lines. Imagine the excitement when we had the CEO of Blockbuster and John Davis play NBA Jam from opposite coasts, captivating audiences globally. This was the precursor to Xbox Live, a testament to the potential of combining media and technology for greater revenue multiples.
LiveOne is not just a music subscription platform. It's the embodiment of the authentic voice in music, filling the void left by MTV with a comprehensive offering of audio, video, podcasting, and live streaming. With over 3000 artists streamed to 5 billion engagements, we've created a platform where content is not only consumed but shared and repurposed across the internet.
