Your host, Doug Noll, talks with the CEO of Laserfiche, Karl Chan. Laserfiche is a company that specializes in digital transformations for businesses. Karl has been with the company for an impressive 35 years, starting when it only had eight employees. Karl's long tenure with Laserfiche and his rise from a junior employee to CEO in a family-owned business is nothing short of remarkable. His interest in software and problem-solving led him to join the company. Over the years, he has held various positions in different departments, allowing him to grow with the company.
Karl emphasized that problem-solving is the key skill he has developed. He mentioned that working in different areas helped him understand the different aspects of the business. Taking on new roles within the company was sometimes intimidating, but he had the support and confidence of the founder, Nien-Ling Wacker.
When asked about what brings him the most joy in his work, Karl mentioned the transformation that Laserfiche brings to businesses. He shared a specific customer story from Ghana, where Laserfiche's digitization of documents has completely changed the lives of people who used to have to go through dangerous and difficult processes to access their documents. This transformation and impact on people's lives is what brings him the most satisfaction.
