Show Notes
Your host, Doug Noll, talks with the Founder of Skanties, Susie Taaffe. Susie's journey is as unique as it is inspiring. With a master's degree in finance and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, she started her career in waste metal extraction through the electrolytic recovery process. However, her interest in business led her to research potential companies that could use this technology, and eventually, to pursue a master's degree in finance.
Susie describes herself as a big ideas person and a "yes" person, always ready to take on new challenges. She believes in making decisions quickly and trusting herself to handle whatever comes along. Her ability to navigate challenges can be attributed to her background in China, where she faced various obstacles and learned to figure things out.
Susie believes in the importance of listening and empathy in her company culture. When someone contacts her with anger or frustration, she makes it a priority to diffuse the situation by acknowledging the person's concerns and offering a solution to make them happy.
