I spent years climbing the corporate ladder and serving in ministry and on the outside, I looked successful. But privately, I was using alcohol to cope with stress and the pain of a toxic marriage and balancing a career and family. I knew something had to change, but I didn’t feel like AA was the right path for me. I had already submitted my life to God and I just didn’t want to call myself an alcoholic.
When the world shut down during COVID, I decided to take a 90-day break from drinking. I joined a neuroscience-based coaching program and paired it with my faith. What happened during those 90 days completely transformed me. I experienced what Scripture calls a renewing of the mind.....and it was supported by science. That’s when I knew I had to share it with others.
Since then, I’ve written best-selling devotionals, created the Choose Freedom® Program, and co-authored a book with a board-certified psychiatrist to help people break free not just from alcohol, but from any life-interfering behavior. What I’ve learned, and what I now teach, is that true transformation happens when faith and brain science work together. And I love sharing that message with podcast audiences who are ready for hope and real change.
