While the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) was searching for missing sex worker, Shannan Gilbert, it was suddenly faced with the deaths of four more women - the Gilgo 4 - whose dismembered remains were discovered alongside Long Island's Ocean Parkway. Along the way the SCPD committed a series of blunders and procedural missteps, some of which are questionable, which resulted in a botched investigation.
