Isaiah 7:14 prophesies that that the messiah would be born of a virgin. This was all part of God's redemptive plan for humanity. This messiah would be fully God and fully man in order to conquer sin and make way for God's promise. A promise of transformation, peace, strength, God sized dreams, and power through the Holy Spirit. Today we look at Luke 1 at Mary's holy visitation and how God's promise for her unfolds.

God is carrying out a redemptive story and we are still in the midst of it. Jesus came to this world as Messiah. Messiah simply means rescuer or deliverer. He come once and He's coming back again! The Christmas story tells the story of Christ’s first coming. It serves as a humble reminder of the mystery and beauty of His first coming, which in turn will prepare us his second coming.

We give what God gave. We are a generous people because He was first generous with us. Often times an attitude of poverty creeps into our lives that says we must fend for ourselves or that we are entitled to something. Pastor Drew concludes our series with this powerful word challenging us to have a heart of generosity.

Worship is so important to the life of a believer and to the church. It's important to take time to understand God's call to us to be worshipers. God has created us as worshiping beings. We worship naturally. We worship that which we give attention to. Everyone worships something. And the reality we cannot have divided worship. We cannot have split attention. Our prayer is that God would truly have all our attention.

1 John 3:16 says, "This is how we know what love is: That Jesus would lay down His life for us, so we ought to lay down our lives for our friends." This is a gospel of radical love, radical obedience, and complete surrender. As we conclude our series "Blindspots" we take a Sunday and respond to this call of complete surrender.

Our words carry the potential to bring life or to destroy. With our words we can speak hope to hopelessness, healing to brokenness, and strength to the weary. But, we can also tear down, complain and criticize, and destroy with our words. Holy Spirit help us to tame our tongue it can be used to bring life!

We were are all created to burn for something! The question is, however, are we burning for the right things? Are we burning for the things God desires us to have a passion for? The problem arises when things, that are less than God's best for our lives, capture our attention and focus. Our prayer must be, "God cause us to burn for You!"

Religion is deceptive in that it can fool us into cleaning up the exterior but never allowing any greater change to happen inside. The good news that Jesus came to bring and declare is good news for our heart, and our heart is the source of all issues of brokenness in our life. Join us as we unpack Matthew 15:10-20 and submit the matters of the heart to our Redeemer, Jesus.
