Show Notes

This week we discuss how one bad experience for your dog can throw things off - even to the best of us. It's called life. Being an experienced dog trainer doesn't preclude you from ending up in unforeseen circumstances.

Panos talks about a recent incident where a dog attacked Nuki & Spades due to the poor management of the attacking dog's owners. We are always going on about good management! But you can't rely on management when it comes to other dog owners.

The consequences of such incidents are referred to as single-event learning in dog training. This can refer to both good and bad experiences. Having built a solid training foundation helps them bounce back from potentially long-lasting negative effects.

We cover the importance of having a plan for desensitisation and how to move forward when the sh*t hits the fan!
