- "I have a question about our (maybe) Terrier Cross 'Frankie' approx 5 years old adopted from Sutherland Shire Animal Shelter 4 years ago.
- He HATES strangers, which is OK, but now that my kids are teens (11 and 13) they're wanting to have their friends sleepover at our house and it isn't going well.
- I have muzzle trained him for everyone's safety, I keep him when muzzled when kids friends are around. But once he sees the "stranger" in our house he bolts towards the growling/barking and sometimes snaps at them.
- I have tried greeting kids friends on mutual territory before they come into house. I've told the friends to completely ignore our dog like he doesn't exist.
- But honestly it's scary for the friends, and once they squeal or run, it's worse.
- Besides putting our dog in another room when we have people over. Do you have any suggestions so everyone can co-exist safely?"
