Ep 91How to take a break from your business

Getting any kind of break from your growing business may seem impossible. There’s always something that needs attention. As ambitious coaches, determined to accomplish big things for ourselves and our businesses, we can allow far too much time to go by between breathers. We easily assign more to ourselves than any human being can really realistically accomplish. Of course, the biggest danger in this fast-paced, intensely focused business building is we can burn out. That's why it’s not only healthy but it's absolutely essential to learn how to take a break from your business, and how to take it well. Implementing this into my own life, I’ve crafted and successfully executed some mental and practical techniques and steps to smooth both getting away and returning. I’m eager to share these with you, whether you use them for your business, your personal life or both. I hope these concepts are as much of a help to you as they are to me. “When I came back to my desk, I had a lovely welcome letter from myself… Such an amazing gift that I was able to give my future self before taking that time.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn Correctly placed worth Dedicate to making space Plan Commit Prepare and execute lists Cover your absence Cover your return Be intentional Support yourself Problem solve Welcome yourself back Gift yourself a letter Organize Download your takeaways Contrast and clarify Leverage fresh perspective Contact Info and Recommended Resources Podcast episode: New Year Transitions: How to Succeed Advanced Certification Training: Join the Waitlist Connect with Molly Claire COACHING BUSINESS A BIT STUCK? Ep 89The Mom Coach Episode: 6 Keys to Coaching Moms

Limiting beliefs can really hold us back but freedom from them is attainable. As coaches, we have the beautiful and life-giving ability to help others unshackle from old beliefs. We can help them form and embrace new beliefs that propel them onto better things. Since limiting beliefs touch every area of our clients’ lives, you’re bound to bump into areas that were not your original focus. One very likely area is parenting. And since being a parent is very special, I want to share with you 6 keys to coaching moms. Before we begin, allow me to encourage you: No matter your coaching niche, this episode still holds great value for you. What I share can be related to coaching dads or even individuals who aren’t parents. Inevitably, everyone is going to have fears and insecurities. It’s our honor, as coaches, to help them see the things they think are challenges and frustrations in different light. To present the thought that, perhaps, these could serve to provide healing opportunities, and to reveal beliefs they would do well to release. “The self-work, and the self-connection, truly is the foundation for all relationships.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn 4 powerful reasons for surface level work Surface level work distraction Relationship foundations: Self-work Fostering connection ‘The Mom Role’ challenge Validate rather than dismiss Contact Info and Recommended Resources Advanced Certification Training: Join the Waitlist Connect with Molly Claire FEELING STUCK IN YOUR COACHING BIZ? Ep 87New Year Transitions: How to Succeed

Change is inevitable. But transitioning into change isn’t easy. Having a plan can make it better. And in particular, having a shift in perspective can go a long way to making things easier. Ep 79Niche Fraud Complex

Have you ever had that moment when a client mentions an issue they’re facing and you immediately think, ‘Uh oh! Me too!’? In that heart-sinking moment, you freeze and think, “Can I really help them?” You might even think, “If they knew my personal struggles, would they even keep me as a coach?” Let me bring you some comfort: We all have moments when our skill set is stretched. Times when we wonder whether or not we can really help our clients. And at least once in our coaching journey, we’ll have a situation when our client needs help with something we ourselves are still working through. In those moments, you may experience what I call Niche Fraud Complex. Similar to the commonly termed “imposter syndrome”, if not addressed, it can erode your confidence and ruin your business. But take heart! By being ready for that moment, you can remove the false power of self-doubt and replace it with the true power of knowing you are blessed with the gift to help others in your niche. “All of those lies, those doubts, that spinning in your mind: Write those down… When you can expose the lies, when you can have some resolution of the lies, when you can edit them and decide: ‘Which ones of these do I want to keep and work on? And which of these on this list do I want to decide I’m never going to think about again?’” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn Symptoms of niche fraud complex Recognizing validity Exposing the lies Deciding on commitment Growing stronger through it Connect with Molly Claire Registration is NOW OPEN! Ep 78Why Coaching Moms Matters with Conscious Parenting Coach Mikki Gardner

The impact a coach can have on Moms as they navigate motherhood cannot be overstated. And the Mom niche in coaching has some unique challenges. Moms are often the ones to minimize themselves and the load they carry. They don’t tend to ask for help or seek support. On the flip side, those moms that don’t minimize themselves, and do ask for help, tend to feel as though they should have guilt for not fitting the norm. We absolutely need to flip this dynamic! That's why I'm excited to have with me for this episode Conscious Parenting Coach, Mikki Gardner. We are both on a mission to empower women. It is our goal for Moms to feel validated regarding getting support, honored as an example of a powerful woman and leader, and embraced for the exceeding value of parenting well. Imagine with us a world where moms are not judged as they currently are but rather are proud and filled with confidence. This is our vision. And to all those who join us in this important Mom space work, I thank you. “If this is what is in your heart to do, it’s there because this is what you’re supposed to do… And it is needed more now than, honestly, I believe it ever has been… We have got to change that paradigm and giving it [motherhood] the importance that we all know that it has.” – Mikki Gardner What You’ll Learn Big, fancy, shiny Stop the message Personal changes Struggle to charge and viability of niche Multiple options Step into yourself Tangible quick wins Validate women Connect with Mikki Gardner Mikki Gardner is a certified Life + Conscious Parenting Coach. Ep 7710 clients to 7-figures: An Interview with Jody Moore

Building your business and leveraging sales and marketing can be daunting when you feel like you don’t know where to begin or what to do. How do you position your messaging to create a business that builds to 7-figures? How often do you need to change it up? How can you compensate if you don’t feel very skilled in getting your message to the right people? Being ready to adapt is key. Things are constantly changing and we can reach more people who need us as we change with it. In this episode, Jody Moore and I talk about all this. Jody is both an encourager and very skilled at helping others focus their sales and marketing. She and I discuss the key elements to business building, including adaptation, waitlists, identifying your niche, and more. We hope this episode emboldens you, especially the portions about how effort can build skills and failure is a thought we can reframe to move forward. “There’s effort and there's skill… If you just take a lot of effort, you don’t have to have the skill. The effort alone will compensate for your lack of skill… The effort builds the skill.” – Jody Moore What You’ll Learn Adaptation Waitlists Niche focus Effort builds skill Failure thoughts Stagnation and adjustments Time, money or both Connect with Jody Moore After having her first two kids, Jody Moore struggled with work/life balance, embracing motherhood, and liking herself. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she felt guilty for not loving the role of mother and wife, and turned to life coaching for help. The transformation she experienced not only helped her at work and at home, it strengthened her testimony of Christ, leading her to dive into learning the tools of coaching and to leave her position as a corporate leadership coach to launch her own coaching practice. Jody is certified through The Life Coach School and completed Master Coach Certification in 2018. Today Jody has helped tens of thousands of people through her top-rated podcast, Better Than Happy, as well as her coaching membership program Be Bold. Ep 76Why a Coach Won't Make their Money back

Can a coach really ever make back the money invested in training and in building her business? We all have goals in the amount of money we want to make (as we should) but is simply recouping the money invested truly possible? Or might there be a better way? In this episode, I want to talk about this because we all start out in the same place. We invest first and then open our coaching business and begin making money. As we do so, it's important to know from the beginning that we won’t ever really “make that money back”. And, it’s even more important to know… that’s actually a good thing. Now you may be thinking, “What?? How can not making my money back possibly be a good thing?” Stick with me. It will make so much sense very soon. “[As] you invest in those things that aren't really tangible, that don’t seem to have that immediate monetary reward… Guess what gets better? Your focus, your mindset, the energy you have to bring to your business… all of it is affected in huge ways.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn Expansion on investment What will I create? Ep 73Impact and 7-figures: An interview with Katrina Ubell

Do you have to have everything together and be completely ready in order to make 7-figures and have an enormous impact? Spoiler alert (and the great news): No. When you offer something to a specific group of people who are hungry for help, when you meet a need no one else is meeting, when you make a commitment to show up – no matter what – you can have an amazing business. To talk about what this looks like and how it can come together, I’m excited to have Katrina Ubell, MD on this episode. We discuss several topics around building a thriving business, including identifying people’s needs, ROIs, working through perceived certainty (and uncertainty), and staying connected to our purpose. One point Katrina really is energetic about is finding your passion and staying committed to it. “When I’m having intrusive thoughts about… ‘you should just get rid of this thing… go run away… you don’t have to do this’... But I really want to make an impact on this group of people. This group of people needs the information I have to share. And I just then start thinking how disappointing it would be to them. Someone had that answer and they just stopped or gave up… and what a shame, there’s all these people that aren’t going to be helped.” – Katrina Ubell, MD What You’ll Learn Making 7-figures starting at nothing Designing your niche by identifying external needs Choosing wise investments for your business Perceived certainty (and uncertainty) Staying connected to purpose A peek into How to Lose Weight for the Last Time Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Katrina Ubel, MD Katrina in her own words… As a pediatrician, I always struggled with my weight. For decades, I lost and gained the same 40 pounds. I tried every diet and program under the sun. Some worked for a while, but I’d always regain the weight. In 2016, I finally figured out how to make weight loss permanent. I developed a program to help other busy physicians like me who often de-prioritize their own wellness. As a weight loss coach, I’ve now helped over 1,300 busy physicians and professionals find and stay at a healthy weight and achieve the same peace and freedom around food. Ep 72Fear Feeds Sabotage

Fear can be pretty sneaky. It can appear like problems – especially ones you’re not sure how to tackle or overcome. But those problems might just be uncertainty, not difficulties you can’t navigate. And fear and uncertainty magnify problems by making you feel alone. But let me assure you, what’s stopping you from moving forward in your business is not only common, it’s very normal. It’s normal to feel stuck, to wonder if we need to change things… a lot of things. If you’ve ever pondered: “Should I change my niche?”, “Should I change what I charge?”, “I don’t know if my program is (fill in the blank)”... you are experiencing normal business frustrations. And it’s important to find practical, workable solutions to them. But because fear feeds sabotage, it is even more important to really open yourself up. Doing so moves you through any places of fear and doubt… and on to helping those you are gifted to help. “When you notice you’re stuck or you’re self-sabotaging, or you’re lost or you’re overwhelmed, and you have your coach work with you to find out what’s there – you will have that fear come up.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn Fear of Success Capability overwhelm Fear of Caretaking Unhealthy responsibility Fear of Failure Avoidance Fear of Disappointment and Disappointing Stifling progress Ways fear disguises itself Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Molly Claire You can give Molly a special gift! Ep 71How to Sell Without Sleazy, Slimy Tactics

We’ve all had that experience at least once, right? That time a sales call or presentation left us with a really bad taste in our mouth. It felt sleazy, slimy and you knew you'd never say yes. Afterward, you vowed to never be that person. Whether you like sales, hate them, or land somewhere in between, we all want our potential clients to have a comfortable, positive sales experience with us. Even if they decide it’s not for them. Before we begin, I want to encourage you. Even if you find sales uncomfortable or intimidating, you likely already have a great foundation, you simply don’t know it. Why? How? Because we all naturally tell people about things we like and we’re passionate about, without thinking anything of it. And really, that’s sales at its core. You can build on that by mixing in a few key sales elements and a little authenticity to make sure your potential clients always have a fantastic experience. “The truth is, we’re all selling all the time… Something I do with my clients is really help them to notice what it feels like when they are sharing something amazing that they love and there’s no money involved. And that feeling and that experience is what I call your unique sales energy… You’re better at selling than you think.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn Why you have a great sales foundation Reflect on a great experience Sold without realizing it Draw from positive experiences 6 key sales elements #1: Have your client’s best interest at heart #2: Listen to fears and help overcome #3: Help your client visualize #4: Assume they want to work with you #5: Don’t be afraid to compassionately ask hard questions #6: Give your client the gift of closure Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Molly Claire You can give Molly a special gift! Ep 70Starting a Podcast: An interview with Daniel Abendroth

As coaches, it is our desire to reach and help as many people as possible. Having your own podcast is absolutely one of the best and most economical ways to accomplish that. But getting started and maintaining a podcast can be daunting. How exactly does one edit and produce their own show? What kind of equipment should you use? What about editing software? Should you have written show notes?... Frankly, some of us might relish the technical stuff but others of us have absolutely no desire to deal with it. Regardless, we all want to share our expertise and release more hope and love into the world. That’s where people like my podcast guy, Daniel Abendroth, come in. He and his wife, Michelle, own Roth Media, LLC, a podcast production company. I wanted to have him on for this episode to help guide anyone who is considering starting their own podcast or possibly looking to do less work to produce their current podcast. Among other points, Daniel and I discuss the benefits of starting a podcast, when it might be the right time to start, how you can lean into your gifts, and how consistency is key. “For coaches, [podcasting is] an amazing tool to grow your business and connect with your audience in a whole different way… From a listener standpoint, there’s this weird intimacy. You feel like you’re sitting with a friend, chit-chatting or, like, just listening to them talk about something that they’re passionate about… It also gets them to know you… whether or not you’re the right coach for them.” – Daniel Abendroth What You’ll Learn For the love of podcasting What podcasting does for your business When you should consider starting a podcast Lean into your gifts Identify your ideal client Consistency and batching The complexity and time commitment of a successful podcast A few equipment and media source recommendations Contact Info and Recommended Resources Royalty free music sources: MelodyLoops.com and Uppbeat.io Podcast editing software: REAPER Learn how to use REAPER: reaperforpodcasting.com Schedule a FREE consultation with Daniel and his wife, Michelle: rothmedia.audio/schedule/consultation. Roth Media offers podcast editing, production and consultation to make their clients’ shows sound smooth and professional, while saving them time and money. When Daniel began his podcasting journey, he wanted his ideas to reach more people. Then while creating his own show, he fell in love with podcast production and wanted to use the skills he’d developed to help others share their ideas. Before long, Daniel discovered how very needed his expertise is. An unfortunate truth became apparent: Most new podcasters simply don’t make it. The low barrier to entry allows anybody to start a podcast but very few have the drive to keep going, and even fewer have the ability to handle everything on their own. Thus, Daniel’s passion to help coaches and solopreneurs positively impact the world through podcasts was born. As Daniel’s journey to improve his own podcast editing skills continued, he also launched Reaper For Podcasting. The editing software, REAPER, is what Daniel uses but he discovered that the learning curve to use it for podcasting, as opposed to music editing, was pretty steep. So he created a channel to share what he’s learned so other podcasters can use REAPER more efficiently and effectively. rothmedia.audio Instagram Twitter Facebook Linkedin | Daniel Linkedin | Roth Media Reaperforpodcasting.com Youtube Facebook Reddit Connect with Molly Claire Give Molly a gift! Ep 67Women Rising Above Limiting Beliefs Together

Limiting beliefs can be inherently part of our nature as women. Some of them can come from our upbringing, some from society, and some from experiences as adults in the workplace or business world. Regardless of where they originate, limiting beliefs absolutely must be addressed in order to fully step into our place in the world. To talk about all this, I have invited three amazing women to share on this podcast episode. Each of them stand as examples of women who want to create something big, while remaining committed to honoring themselves, their personal priorities, and impacting the world with good. They really represent the manifesto of The Masterful Coach Collective Community. In the Community, we support one another as we face the common challenges of women entrepreneurs, especially in rising above limiting beliefs. “We believe in supporting women to rise to their potential. That each woman may overcome her limiting beliefs and feel powerful and free. We give permission for each woman to honor her own personal values and priorities. That she may be at peace with her life and herself. We stand together in collaboration. We learn from the best. We support each other to become our best. That each of us may expand in our ability to do good in the world. We believe that self-care is honorable. That women may thrive personally and give their best to others too. We cultivate self-trust, self-knowing, and self-confidence. That each women is powerful enough to stand alone, but in wisdom, she chooses to stand with others in goodness and growth.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn The Masterful Coach Collective Community manifesto Collaboration without competition The power and energy of feminine support Ways we drop the ball Bringing life situations into cooperation Find what lights you up Use your voice Do it anyway Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Mikki Gardner Mikki is a Certified Life Coach who helps women become loving, strong, effective co-parents and create a life full of resilience, abundance and joy after divorce. mikkigardner.com Connect with Crystal Hanson Crystal is a Certified Life and Advanced Relationship Coach who specializes in helping women and couples who feel disconnected, or even miserable in their marriage, learn tools to bridge the gap and create the relationships they’ve always wanted. crystalhansencoaching.com Connect with Ashton Barrett Ashton is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and non-diet, weight-inclusive Certified Personal Trainer. Ep 64Money Manifestation: An Interview with Jamie Berman

Many entrepreneurs feel a heaviness around the topic of money that really can get in the way in business. How you feel about money impacts how you relate to it, and that relationship impacts how much money you make. But there is good news: You can change how you feel about money. You can implement an intentional approach to money by shifting your mindset. And that can result in making more money. That’s why I’ve invited Jamie Berman, Master Certified Mindset Coach and Money Manifestation expert, to give us some powerful insights into taking control of how we think about money. So if you find yourself dreading the financial side of business, if you have a negative relationship with money, if you have anxiety around cash flow… this episode will help set you free! Jamie shares all about how we can create a light, fun and easier relationship with money, and therefore manifest more money. “I also see a lot of ‘I’m not smart enough’, ‘I’m not the person who fits a successful CEO’... I think there are so many versions of that… where we don’t allow ourselves to step into the idea that Me, Myself, I can make money JUST AS I AM. I don’t have to change myself in order to create money.” – Jamie Berman What You’ll Learn See money as a support Redefine loving money Build from abundance rather than lack Make money as yourself Continually coach yourself Shift your mindset Give yourself time Do values work Celebrate changes you’ve already made Don’t rush success Contact Info and Recommended Resources Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz John Gottman resources Connect with Jamie Berman Jamie in her own words… “What was the difference between my first $100K and my second $100K? When I first started out as a coach, I was just like you. Coaching had made a HUGE impact in my life and I loved helping others get their own breakthroughs and transformations! I became a certified holistic health coach, studied spiritual psychology, and then became a master certified coach with the Life Coach School. I got coached, did a ton of inner work and made huge sacrifices, even selling my car to fund my business. All this because I knew what was possible in my life and I was determined to make it happen. And I did. After two years of making close-to-nothing in my business, I decided year three would be my 6-figure year! But let me tell you about that first $100K… I hustled hard that year I was so driven to prove myself and my value, I was running myself ragged I was constantly creating content, showing up on social media and making offers My days were filled with marketing, consult calls, coaching, and more marketing At the end of it all, I hit my revenue goal but I was exhausted and burnt out. I did not become a coach to constantly be exhausted and burnt out. So, I made a new resolution. I was going to hit that same revenue goal but with joy and fun. Here’s what happened with my second $100K… I listened to my intuition and approached my business with a completely different mindset I integrated spiritual practices, belief work and manifestation, allowing me to coach in a way that was more aligned with who I am I manifested more and bigger opportunities I made changes in my business that allowed me to increase my impact and income while working less hours That year, I reached my revenue goal, surpassed it, and did it in a way that felt good. Now I help coaches create more abundance and alignment in their businesses and their lives.” jamieberman.com Get Jamie’s FREE Manifestation for Business Workbook: jamieberman.com/manifestationworkbook Facebook Instagram Connect with Molly Claire Molly specializes in her mom-centric coaching. Ep 61Grief Coaching: An Interview with Krista St-Germain

When we think of grief, we typically think of grieving the loss of life. However, grief takes many forms, has nearly countless sources, and has no time limit. In fact, a client may be grieving but not realize it because the cause was not a death. But, as humans, we grieve many types of loss. That’s why helping clients through grief of varying degrees and origins is something all coaches do. To encourage you in this vital work, I invited grief coach, Krista St-Germain to share some of her insights and skills. She begins by relating her personal experiences that led her to grief coaching and then to becoming a coach herself. Then, throughout the episode, we discuss many of the myths, biggest challenges, and nuances about grief and coaching those experiencing grief. We hope this episode leads you both to identifying more forms of grief and to additional resources to help you care for your clients. “They come to you thinking that the thing that happened has power over them. And what we can show them is that: No, actually, they get to choose how they want to feel about this thing that has happened. And that doesn’t mean that we have to choose to be happy. But that helps us start seeing the thing as less powerful and ourselves as more powerful.” – Krista St-Germain What You’ll Learn Krista’s personal experiences Insides versus outsides The biggest challenges when grief coaching Tiptoeing Holding space Observing differently Allowing alternatives to models Uncovering the real struggle Doing better with supporting grief Realizing we all fall in the pool at times Bolstering our client’s power Contact Info and Recommended Resources The Grief Recovery Handbook Krista’s podcast: Episode #45: For Those Who Love Us Episode #2: Myths of Grief Connect with Krista St-Germain Krista in her own words… “When my husband was killed by a drunk driver, I was devastated. Therapy helped me survive the tidal wave of grief and unfurl myself from the fetal position. I went back to work. Everyone kept telling me how “strong” I was. I acted strong in front of my kids. But inside I felt hollow. All my dreams had included him. I desperately wanted to believe I could still have a happy, fulfilling life but I wasn’t sure how. Then I began to research grief, trauma and healing extensively. I studied cognitive behavioral coaching and read every book I could find. I combined what I learned about Post Traumatic Growth with cognitive science based coaching tools and figured out how to turn my loss into a strategy for growth. I learned to see myself as stronger because of what I’d been through instead of using it as a reason to stop dreaming. I created a new life using small, manageable steps and techniques that made sense. The changes I experienced were so profound I became a Master Certified Life Coach and created a group coaching program for widows like us called Mom Goes On.” CoachingwithKrista.com The Widowed Mom podcast with Krista St-Germain: coachingwithkrista.com/podcast Moms Go On program – Get a free, private training: coachingwithkrista.com/work-with-me Facebook Instagram [email protected] Connect with Molly Claire Molly specializes in her mom-centric coaching. Ep 605 Freebie Mistakes (and the easy solutions)

Your freebie (or lead magnet or opt-in) needs to be steller. You want that first touchpoint to be high quality and offer value. After all, it shapes the initial feel for who you are for your potential clients. But it’s easy to make mistakes in your offer and that first impression is made. So how can you be sure your freebie will attract the right clients and have the positive effect you seek? Ep 59"The Mom Coach" Episode

Freedom from limiting beliefs is paramount to moving forward in life. As coaches, it’s our job to help our clients shake loose from old beliefs that hold them back, and embrace new beliefs that move them forward. Since this touches every area of our clients’ lives, you are likely to find areas coming up in your coaching that are not what you’re actually focused on. One of those areas is parenting. Addressing it as you work on other focuses is special and there are some keys to helping moms, in particular. In this episode, I share 6 keys to coaching moms. Now, even if you don’t specifically work with moms, this episode is still for you. Everything I share can also be correlated to coaching dads and individuals who are not parents. The main focus is tailoring your coaching to fit your client, to meet their personal needs and goals in business, in life, and (for many) in parenting. "There is inevitably going to be fears and insecurities there… [But] all of the things they think are a challenge, are a frustration… are there for them and provide opportunities for them to see what healing they need to experience… what beliefs they would do well to release.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn 4 reasons why surface level work can be powerful When surface level work is a distraction Self-work: The foundation for all relationships Individual knowing creates connection, not disconnection The challenge of ‘The Mom Role’ Validation over dismissiveness Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Molly Claire Molly specializes in her mom-centric coaching. Ep 57Defining YOU as a coach: Skill Mastery

Similar or even identical tools and skills are used by countless coaches throughout the world. So how do you make your coaching stand out? How can you be unique and impactful? I submit that it’s about progressing beyond just understanding concepts into internalizing them for yourself. This is how you both identify what your niche is and identify with your niche. When you identify with your niche, you’ll naturally have clients gravitate toward you. Others who will not, and that’s okay. Just notice and own what makes you different and sets you apart. Embrace the skill mastery of defining you as a coach. Focus on who you connect with and help those individuals. Allow someone else to be the right coach for clients you’re not a good fit for. It’s how you’ll stay out of the compare and despair trap and by truly successful in your coaching business. “Even if there are fifty other women with the exact same niche as you, you are going to be unique. You are not going to be everyone’s flavor of coaching… Own who you are and what’s different about you. Because that’s what will set you apart.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn First learn tools and strategies as intended Lean into your strengths Make choices about perceived weaknesses Be specific in defining you (what you do and don’t do) Leave room for growth Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Molly Claire Molly specializes in her mom-centric coaching. Summer fun and relaxation is stiff competition for getting things done in your business. Vacations, kids out of school, opportunities for time with friends and family… How will you balance it all? To help, I put together a list of 5 short, sweet principles for a successful summer. These are ones that I’ve employed myself and I hope they work for you as well. “Finding the perfect balance for you and your life and your family is not going to come overnight. Ep 54What it takes to Succeed in creating your ideal business

Creating your unique business, reaching your niche, supporting the life you want, takes some fortitude and a little grit. Not the grind it out, overwork yourself grit but the courage to do things that are hard but necessary kind. As I always remind you: craft your business to uniquely fit you, to support your ideal life and your desires. In so doing, you truly honor your personal life and build a business that opens you up to greater abundance. By greater abundance, I’m talking about stepping into greater belief. That greater belief that opens up your mind to what is possible in your life and your business. And, from there, how that paves the way for you to help your clients into greater belief, ultimately changing their lives. “Saying no with abundance means you’re clear on your abundant life and you honor your priorities and the gifts you have to give in this world. Your abundant you shows that someone else will be available and perfect for that thing you said no to. And that you’ll have the abundance to say yes to the things that are right for you and the ways you contribute.” – Molly Claire What You’ll Learn The hard things you do to have the life you want… #1: Establish proper value Detrimental self-sacrifice Balance #2: The power of No Prioritizing Abundant yeses #3: Letting go Narrow your focus to expand your capacity The illusion of security Contact Info and Recommended Resources Relationship Coaches (especially), follow Aimée C. Ep 52The Power of Stories in Coaching: An Interview with Aaron Jacobs

We are naturally storytellers and listeners. We connect through stories that deliver an emotional punch. For your current coaching clients, they can deepen your relationships, increasing success. For your potential clients, they can increase your memorability and attraction. Videos that incorporate storytelling work incredibly well for this. But what if you’re camera shy? Uncomfortable with being vulnerable? What if you feel you're no good or don’t have any stories worth telling? In this episode, I talk with Aaron Jacobs, CEO at Storied Coaching and OMH Creative about the power of stories in coaching. We discuss how stories are all around us, you just need to recognize and apply them. One of the best applications is by creating videos. It’s really not as scary as it sounds, I promise. Aaron shares the uplifting fact that making stories more impactful and memorable can be learned. He even has a free guide to help you choose the right video equipment. I urge you to give it a try. You truly can uplevel your coaching through engaging storytelling, both on camera and off. “It’s not a talent to get good being on camera, it’s actually just a set of skills that anyone can learn.” – Aaron Jacobs What You’ll Learn You already have a story Building confidence on camera Jarring your sense of self Marketing through vulnerable connection Directing your brain to recognize stories Moving from default stories 3 ways to up your camera game The “Wonderbra” of production Contact Info and Recommended Resources Connect with Aaron Jacobs FREE Ultimate Video Gear Guide: https://bit.ly/UGearGuide Learn from Aaron: The Storied Life Coaching Podcast StoriedCoaching OMHCreative StoriedTeams Linkedin - Aaron Instagram - Aaron / Storied Coaching Instagram - OMH Creative Linkedin - OMH Creative About Aaron (in his own words)… No Risk, No New Story. I can help you create a new story for your life too. I have helped hundreds of professionals learn how to identify current stories in their life that are holding them back from reaching their full personal and professional potential. People just like you who felt burned out and stuck. I lead an amazing team that helps businesses sell more by learning how to tell compelling stories and differentiate themselves by using the camera. Because you should be inviting your audience to engage with you. Encouraging them to laugh. Helping them feel a connection with their own personal identity that makes their world better than before they started watching you and hearing about what you offer. Then they become your evangelists. They help you achieve your business goals. You can learn to tell your audience a story worth listening to. Do it. Do it now. I am happy to help. Marketing Strategist, Brittni Schroeder, joins me to discuss building your email list through lead magnets. She encourages us all to take the time it needs but not take too long. Ep 49Keeping energy high in your coaching business

In us all, there lies a craving to have some certainty, some measure of stability. We know, going into building a business, that there will be ups and downs. Yet, we still long for security. So when uncertainty invades our thoughts, and it will, it culminates in an overwhelming feeling of instability. But even if you work a regular job for someone else, security is often an illusion. At least when you work for yourself, you tackle that uncertainty straight on. You can choose to embrace the “what ifs?”. And when you do, it can become a strength, rather than a weakness. How? Ep 48High Bar for Success in your Coaching Business

In the coaching world, there is a rather low bar set for who can call themselves a coach. Pretty much, anyone can regardless of experience or training. That can be unsettling and we can view it as a problem. Or we can choose to view it from the other side: That thus the bar is set very high for achieving true success as a coach. Those who are doing well have really done the work. It shows in how they run their business, their level of professionalism, and all of the things related to being an effective, impactful coach. And they set a high standard for us all. This is very exciting. Each of us has equal opportunity to rise up, to stand out, to count ourselves among the best of the best. So let’s talk for a few minutes about how to achieve success in your coaching business. What You’ll Learn Provide relevant value 3 areas of relevance Uphold a foundation of ethics 3 areas of ethics and integrity Operate with a high level of professionalism 2 areas of professionalism Set a standard Contact Info and Recommended Resources For more on ethics and integrity in your business, I invite you to listen to these previous episodes of The Masterful Coach: Ethics and Coaching: Integrity in your business Unacceptable Coaching Practices Business Autopilot Apply to be in Molly’s hand-selected, small and intimate 90-Day Coaching Group, starting in mid-April: mollyclaire.com or email [email protected]. Ep 47All or Nothing Thinking Trap for Coaches

Business building is an ebb and flow. But it can be all too easy to fall into the thinking trap of “all or nothing” when it comes to ourselves, our success, and our business growth. In reality, growing your business is largely about your internal evolution, becoming more of who you’re meant to be, and who you want to be. That is how we each fulfill our purpose and mission. As we work with clients, it may be apparent when they struggle with this all or nothing thinking trap. However, it can be more difficult to spot within ourselves. In this episode, I want to provide you some space, to take a look at where it’s coming up for you and how it’s impacting you. I hope with this different perspective you’ll be able to embrace new experiences in your business and not be as impacted by up and down thinking. What You’ll Learn Defining all or nothing thinking The extremes Contrasts in money thoughts Perfect balance vs ditch it all Why it’s a problem Emotional upheaval The power of middle space Temptation to quit What to do about it Take note Detangle your dreams from others’ Mitigate fear Contact Info and Recommended Resources Apply to be in Molly’s hand-selected, small and intimate 90-Day Coaching Group, starting in mid-April: mollyclaire.com or email [email protected]. Ep 3711-Year Old Changing the World: An Interview with Daisy Freestone

Books full of advice to help kids through divorce, and everything that comes after it, abound by the hundreds. But they are typically written from an adult perspective, not necessarily a kid’s. Daisy Freestone is changing that with her new book, A Kid’s Guide to Divorce and Life After It: Tips, Tricks and More. Daisy Freestone is my daughter and she’s written and illustrated a book full of tips, tricks, thoughts and feelings regarding divorce, all from her own perspective. It’s set to launch very soon and we’d love the support of everyone listening to help make the book a bestseller on Day #1. You can sign up to purchase at launch, help us spread the word, and even to interview Daisy. In the meantime, I thought Daisy could provide some valuable insight for us coaches. As we coach, we deal with emotions and thoughts and feelings on a daily basis. So I asked Daisy to share some of her experiences and thoughts for helping people and changing lives, no matter your age. “What if I sound weird? What if people can’t relate to this?… Do I even know what I’m doing here?... And I think that might be something coaches experience a lot building their business... I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t trust myself to do this… I can’t do this. I’m going to sound weird to my clients. And I don’t think that’s true. Everybody is just working hard and trying to do our best. And it will always turn out great.” – Daisy Freestone What You’ll Learn What inspired you to write the book? Some parts of divorce are easy and bonuses, some are not Personal growth, depth and meaning Passionate about sharing her experiences and connecting with other kids of divorce What impact do you hope it has? Ep 35Money and Your Coaching Business: An Interview with Mark Butler

As we dive into the New Year, it’s important to look at our money in a serious, yet easygoing, way. Easygoing? When taxes and budgets and forecasts and cash flow and all the “can I afford to…” questions can be overwhelming and massively stress-inducing? Yes, with the right help and guidance. After all, as coaches, we have some specific expenditures and numerous online expenses. We can’t have just anyone help us and we certainly can’t do things only part way. This is where having excellent bookkeeping (and possibly hiring a bookkeeper) comes in. Mark Butler is my go-to guy when it comes to financials. I originally met Mark when he was the CFO for The Life Coach School. Since then, we’ve gotten to know one another quite well through working together on various efforts, coaching, bookkeeping and financial questions. Mark’s genius superpower is that he has the ability to view money in a neutral way. Peeling away the emotions wrapped around money is key to succeeding not only financially but also in wisely appropriating energy to build one’s business. “A lot of people struggle to view money as a fact. They give it a lot of meaning and it carries a lot of hope, shame, anger… and a lot of emotion tied up in money.” – Mark Butler What You’ll Learn Mark’s superpower Emotions and money Mark’s emotional history that drew him to be a money guy Journey to money neutrality Is there really a connection between “happy and fulfilled” and money? The de-weaponizing of terms like abundance, money, wealth Proper balance with limiting and non-limiting beliefs Transitioning away from fear and shame into curiosity Common money challenges for coaches Vote of confidence: Having a dedicated checking account and credit cards Failing to celebrate Inadequate tax preparations Building a team: wage questions, building relationships, and beyond Viewing people as brains, not just hands Not really about “Figuring out the money piece” Marketing issues Making decisions from fear Not the only meaningful signal Money is exponential, not linear Create a meaningful mark list Most successful coaching businesses Marketing rhythm Generate enthusiasm to repeatedly say things that resonate Enjoy the work you’re doing Connect with Mark Butler Mark Butler started Let’s Do The Books to meet the need and desire of business owners to have a bookkeeper and financial adviser who understands online business. Someone who knows what PayPal and Stripe are and how they work. Someone familiar with launches, masterminds, group coaching, retreats, memberships, ebooks, courses, freelancing, and productized services. About himself and his own journey, Mark says… “I started my first online business in 2004. In the last sixteen-ish years I’ve made money using every one of the business models I listed above. I’ve built my business around coaches, creators, and freelancers. I fell into bookkeeping in 2014. Although I’d made money using all kinds of online business models, I’d never figured out how to manage that money. I went through some feast and famine, got in and out of debt, and finally sold my online businesses and limped away in early 2013. I took a job working for my good friend, Jesse Mecham. He was the founder of a personal budgeting software called You Need A Budget (aka YNAB, pronounced why-nab). I spent my first year at YNAB as the staff writer, but then I wanted to make more money. I asked Jesse if I could start coaching small business owners, using YNAB as the platform. He said go for it. There turned out to be demand for the help, and within a year I was back on my own as a full-time money guy, working almost exclusively with coaches, online business owners, and freelancers. That’s why I understand you and your business so well.” Work with Mark and his team for bookkeeping: Letsdothebooks.com Let’s Do The Books Facebook | @letsdothebooks Let’s Do The Books Instagram | @letsdothebooks [email protected] Work with Mark on your business: Moneyschool.works Connect with Molly Claire The Coaching Collective: thecoachingcollective.com -- Sign up for free monthly mastery trainings! Ep 34How to get out of a business rut

Sometimes we know we’re in a rut, and sometimes we may be in one and not even recognize it. Exactly what might ruts look like to identify them? As we move into the new year, it’s the perfect time to evaluate: Evaluate your processes and where you’re going, are there places you’re stuck? Give yourself time and space to just be. Put some distance between yourself and your business to shift your view. This clears your mind and allows you to see things you might be overlooking. In this episode, I discuss what a business rut might look like and how to get out of it. A few big flags are things like avoidance, drudging through, or procrastination. Although those can be just a normal part of dealing with the necessities of business, if you find yourself struggling with the same thing over and over, you might be in a rut. What You’ll Learn Five Ways to Identify Business Ruts and Tips to Get Out of Them Check in with yourself, your alignment with your values and your mission Misalignment of priorities resulting in self-sabotage Are you trying to live someone else’s life? Check on any lingering insecurities regarding what you’re offering in your business Identify thoughts that reveal insecurities Direct addressing them Question whether they are truth Make some changes Shake things up If you were starting over, what would you do differently? Do something you’re excited about, even if it makes no sense Deal with the arguments that crop up Give yourself the gift of a belief detox Carve time and space to foster curiosity and gain perspective Bring in new, healthy beliefs to overwrite beliefs that aren’t serving you Connect with Molly Claire The Coaching Collective: thecoachingcollective.com -- Sign up for free monthly mastery trainings!
