We sit down with my parents for a raw, four-voice conversation about the difference between sympathy, empathy, and compassion, and why the last one must be defined by action, not emotion. From stories in special education to the wear and tear of caregiving, we unpack how calling, humility, and heart-guarding keep us from slipping into control and resentment when stress spikes.
