Bill & George are hyped for the VW classic Weekend. It kicks off Thursday night with the VW Trends founders party. Friday afternoon wirth Pierside parts open house Followed by DKP cruise night at Main St in Garden Grove. Satruday is OCTO in the AM then RVA Show then an open house at ISP West. Sunday is the VW classic at the Orange County Fairgrounds. We talk about what George has been up to at his shop & What Bill has broken or destroyed.

The Berlin Buick was at the grand national roadster show in the gathering of Hot VWs display. It is by far one of the nicest done mid-engine conversions I have seen. Clyde Berg is the youngest of the 3 Berg brothers. He started in the shop when he was 6 years old tearing down engines. He eventually moved into the head shop. Porting heads is his specialty. We talk about growing up in the Berg family. How it was to work with Gene. The trial and error of drag racing. Some of the work on head development & experiments. The early days of being at the track.

Bob Ellis is from Manistee Michigan. His home shop Der Vintage Werks has restored & preserved a lot of Volkswagen of Americas collection of air cooled vars. He was also involved with the 1964 Beetle "Max" campaign. There was also some crossover with VW of Canada.

James Sopher is an Ohio VW enthusiasts who is committed to the hobby. From way back in high school till today. He has been involved in the Ohio scene for quite a while He also puts on the "bug infestation" VW show at Geneva at the lake. Shin Watanabe is the Editor for Hot VWs magazine. He has a love for Volkswagens that started when he was just 4 years old. He then went on to get started in the Japanese magazine world covering the American car culture. His love then sent him to reside full time in the US. He, like all of us VW fans cant just have 1. Steve is one of the original VW builders from Bakersfield Ca. With is shop Volks Works he built / painted & created over a dozen cars that were featured in the mid to late 80's. His knack for customization & paint put the Bakersfield crew on the map. He also with Chris Addington sold custom dashboards, bumpers and more.
