50 Berkeley Square may be part of the most known square in an affluent area of London, but it also happens to be the city’s most haunted house. Prime Minister George Canning, the shortest serving Prime Minister on record and a tenant of 50 Berkeley Square, noted that the townhouse had “unexplained sounds and disturbing psychic phenomena.” Neighbors reported hearing disembodied voices and seeing strange shadows lurking inside the vacant home. Those who dare to sleep in the uppermost bedrooms are declared insane, or worse, fatally injured by an “unnamed horror”. 50 Berkeley Square has been plaguing the residents of Mayfair for nearly 200 years, but is there more to the story than meets the eye?
