Origin stories are of utmost importance when it comes to superheroes, detailing who they are and how they came to be to readers and audiences. The issue though, especially when characters could have been created as long as 80 years ago, is that aspects of the origin story can become dated with time. What happens is that over time, characters can receive many retellings of their origin story updating it for the times.
