The Christian God of the Bible has a special liking for the number seven. The seventh day was the sabbath day, the seventh year was the sabbatical year, and after 49 years (7 × 7) came the year of Jubilee. The seventh new moon was the day of trumpets, the seventh month of the year was for festivals. The Passover lasted seven days, seven weeks lie between Passover & Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles lasted seven days too. Even Jewish boys were circumcised at seven days old. In the Book of Revelation there were seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven last plagues. Please join us today as we look at the most important ‘seven’ of them all—the seventh day Sabbath—and why God made it holy.
