In 2 Samuel 7, King David finds himself in a place of comfort now that peace has come to Israel. David says to Nathan, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within tent curtains.” He is concerned the Lord does not have a proper dwelling place and wonders if he should construct one. King David’s journey offers insight for us today when we find ourselves trying to discern good from best.
