Remember in Exodus when God hardened Pharaoh’s heart then unleashed the ten plagues upon Egypt? Or what about that time when God enabled Satan himself to bring destruction into Job’s life? It’s so much easier to think of God as loving, gracious, and merciful, yet in 1 Samuel 16, there’s another instance when God sends a spirit to torment Saul. Why? Does God enjoy torturing people? What is His purpose with this kind of activity? This week’s message will answer those questions.
