Show Notes
The Department for Work and Pensions is sending letters to those aged sixty-six and older about upcoming state pension boosts starting April 2026. Full new state pension recipients will see their weekly amount rise to £241.30, while those on the maximum basic state pension will get £184.90. This is due to the triple lock policy, but its bittersweet as more pensioners are being pushed into the 20% tax bracket due to the frozen personal allowance at £12,570 since April 2021. If it had risen with inflation, it would be £15,508 today, sparing many from the tax hit on their pension increases.
