Betsy Brown, a nine-year-old girl from Coalville, is participating in the fortieth anniversary Swimathon to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Inspired by her great-grandmother Sue, who passed away from breast cancer, Betsy aims to swim one hundred lengths at the local Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre. Last year, she completed sixty lengths and raised two hundred twenty pounds. This years event runs from March twentieth to twenty-second, and anyone can join through MySwimathon.
