Today’s episode is all about “la rentrée”, the French word for “back to school” and “back to work.” In France, children enjoy a long two-month summer break in July and August, so the beginning of September marks the start of a brand-new school year. For some little ones, it’s even their very first day of school! But “la rentrée” isn’t just for students, it also means parents and professionals return to work, public transport becomes crowded again, and life falls back into its usual rhythm.

In this episode, I’ll share what “la rentrée” looks like in France, from school to everyday life. I’ll also tell you about my own return from three weeks of holiday in Japan, an amazing trip I’ll talk more about in future episodes. You’ll discover how the French experience the mix of excitement and challenges that come with starting fresh in September.

This episode is perfect for intermediate and advanced learners who want to improve their French while gaining cultural insight into one of the most important times of the year in France.
