Do you practice self-care?
We hear all the time that self-care is so important. We are always encouraged to practice it with meditation, bubble baths, and walks. But the world and all of our expectations, responsibilities, and commitments can make any form of real self-care feel impossible. We have families and businesses and friends, and it's easy to prioritize ourselves last.
In this episode of The Leading Lady Podcast, I'm sharing why self-care is actually an act of bravery and why you need to start making yourself a priority in your life for your own well-being.
As high-achieving women, it's scary to take a step back when we need it because we don't want to let anyone down. That means that you have to say no and back out of commitments when you over-committed yourself, and it takes courage to admit to others that you need to prioritize your mental health.
In a world where we are idolized for stretching ourselves too thin, being a part of hustle culture, and being seen as a woman that can do all the things, it is so easy for self-care to just fall off our radar.
You can't light yourself on fire to keep others warm. Self-care isn't selfish, it's a necessity. Tune in to hear more about why practicing self-care is an act of bravery and how to start making it a priority.
