Like most people, I always had just one job, one source of income, and no backup plan.
The pandemic taught me two things:
How quickly things can change for the worse.
The importance of building a personal brand.
From that point, I decided I would not allow myself to be in a position where my livelihood could be threatened again due to things out of my control.
Remember, your brand is bigger than any job, title or salary.
Your brand is something you carry with you everywhere.
Your brand will get you opportunities, speaking gigs, and more than your job won't.
What did I do? I set out to brand myself and create my own business using LinkedIn as the vehicle. Granted, I had this plan, had no idea how to use LinkedIn, but I was aware of the possibilities.
So, what did I do? Glad you asked, because I'm gonna tell you
I educated myself on LinkedIn through courses and from others on the platform. LinkedIn is by far the most supportive social media platform.
Now, not only do I have a business, but I am doing something I love: helping and teaching individuals and small businesses how to grow their network and business on LinkedIn.
