With the negative experiences that come with being in such intimate settings with men, including married men, how can Jessica tolerate her clients and provide them access to her body? Jessica explains that there are a variety of reasons why married men choose to see sex workers and these are sometimes worthy of empathy and understanding. In other cases, Jessica rationalises that she is compensated fairly for the provision of labour and value by her clients, whereas the unassuming wife or girlfriend is usually not appropriately compensated, leading to anger, resentment and disgust when the relationship falls apart or where the cheating is exposed.
