Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur paints a different picture of Lewis Hamilton than the headlines do. The post-session quotes can spike the mood but the briefings are calm. Behind closed doors he is sending word across Maranello with lessons from Mercedes...but the media tend to focus on one thing.

This season is an integration job under a cost cap, not some kind of fancy magic switch. Ferrari admits it underprepared for his arrival and Hamilton’s push has to live alongside Charles Leclerc’s preferences. That means parallel optimisation now and big gains targeted for the 2026 reset. Walking away would bin hard-won learning and cash, so the smart play is persistence. We have seen it pay off before with Alonso once Aston improved and with Schumacher’s late-run resurgence at Mercedes.
