Show Notes

A Kansas court is set to decide on a temporary restraining order for Senate Bill 244, which targets transgender people by invalidating changed gender markers on drivers licenses and birth certificates, and limiting bathroom use to a persons sex assigned at birth. The law raises concerns for trans Kansans, including risks of harassment, job loss, and mental health struggles, and allows anyone feeling wronged by bathroom choices to sue for money. The Kansas Department of Revenue sent letters to around three hundred people saying their licenses were invalid, but no records have actually been changed yet. The judge noted a solid reason for the request, and well know soon if enforcement gets paused while the full case plays out.
