Judge Sally Pokorny, the longest-serving judge in Douglas County, is retiring after seventeen years of service. Shes held the record with her steady dedication in the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center. Before her appointment in 2009, she built a strong career as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She made history as the first judge in Kansas to lead a Behavioral Health Court. A public farewell ceremony is planned for April tenth at the historic Douglas County Courthouse.
