ICE Activity in Lawrence, Kansas: Community Responds with Solidarity Training
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have been active in Lawrence, Kansas, detaining individuals, including those from the University of Kansas campus. This has led to a surge in community concern and quick responses to help people stay safe.
On March 29th, Sanctuary Alliance of Lawrence and Somos Lawrence will host a solidarity training from 3-5 PM, open to all but requiring online registration. On March 27th, University of Kansas faculty and staff can attend a session at Ecumenical Campus Ministries, also requiring registration.
These events aim to educate on know-your-rights basics, actions during enforcement stops, and ways to support neighbors, fostering stronger networks amidst ongoing ICE presence in the community.
