Show Notes
The historic Douglas County Courthouse in Lawrence underwent a major renovation, fixing its century-old exterior. Crews patched original stone letters, waterproofed the basement, replaced the sanitary line, and swapped out deteriorating limestone stones. New stones from a local quarry were added, and unsafe north-side stairs were rebuilt with railings. Finishing touches include new landscaping, window cleaning, and a bench made from salvaged stones. The landmark is now ready to serve the community for generations.
