Maddison doubled the lead in the second half with an almost identical goal, as another Bassey pass was cut out and the England playmaker was teed up by Son to slot home confidently. Fulham went closest when Joao Palhinha forced Guglielmo Vicario into an impressive stop with a header from a corner. Fulham caused Tottenham problems on the counter attack at times but could not make Spurs pay before Maddison's goal secured the win to move Spurs two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league. Josh Brownhill's neat finish pulled one back for Burnley in stoppage time, but it was no more than a consolation. THST has accused Spurs of “exploiting fans’ loyalty” during a cost of living crisis. The protest will commence at 3.45pm – with kick-off at 5.30pm – and take place opposite the club’s ticket office. It threatens to overshadow a new era under Postecoglou, who joined from Celtic earlier in the summer. As of next season, tickets for Category B and C matches will be raised by between £3 to £15 compared to 2022-23, while Category A fixtures, against Spurs’ “Big Six” rivals and as of next season Newcastle, are now priced at £10 to £17 more. The most expensive individual ticket for an adult supporter is £103. Clean sheets have come on 14 of those occasions, with the Dutchman possessing the ability to play at both left and centre-back.
