Una etapa sin obstáculos y que tenía que llegar al sprint, y así ocurrió. Lamentablemente el incidente del día fue una caída a 12kms del final con como principal perjudicado Primož Roglič, quien perdió 2min30 y con eso sus opciones para el podium. La llegada final fue un sprint entre los principales velocistas y por tercera vez el más rápido fue el eritreo Biniam Girmay.
