Wisconsin Rep. Steve Doyle on puppies, yelling at kids, the Legislature's "time off"

Wisconsin state Rep. Steve Doyle joins to discuss his golden retriever pups, the Derrick Van Orden incident cursing at teens and the amount of time the Legislature takes off. We also discussed some of the negotiations going on in Madison with tax cuts, childcare funding and we gave Doyle an idea in resolving the Brewers stadium funding. Began the show talking about the work the Legislature does while it's out of session, and whether or not it's actual work. After that, a bit about the breaking story that Van Orden was yelling at high school-aged Senate pages for taking pics, as Doyle has multiple experiences in this regard. Also talked about his five-week old golden retriever puppies — there's one left. After that, we got into how the work in both Madison and Washington is more about headlines and less about working out deals between parties. Part of that issue in Wisconsin is gerrymandered maps, so we also discussed the state Supreme Court flipping to a progressive majority and how that might solve some of these issues. Lastly, we talked specifics in terms of tax cuts, childcare and senior care funding and how to use the state's $3.5 billion budget surplus.
