May 23, 2022--This week, MendoLatino celebrates the 15th annual Mendocino Film Festival. Diana Coryat and Loreto Rojas interview Missing in Brooks County's producer Jacob Bricca and The Keepers of the Corn's director Gustavo Vazquez, two of the features of this year's festival. Vasquez’s film Guardianes del Maíz focuses on the ancient corn seeds cultivated in Mexico and the people that keep the tradition and food culture alive in many corners of that land. Bricca is an award-winning film editor, producer, director and academic. In Missing in Brooks County two families search for loved ones who disappeared in the fields of Brooks County, Texas, after crossing from Mexico and find a hard truth: that the deadliest part of the journey is far from the border.
