Schrijver Stefan Hertmans schreef een nieuwe boek, ‘De opgang’. Over hoe een Vlaamse SS-er en een Nederlandse pacifistische vrouw de oorlog doorbrachten in het latere woonhuis van de schrijver zelf. Hertmans publiceerde romans, verhalen, essays en een groot aantal dichtbundels waarmee hij verschillende prijzen won.
