In haar nieuwe boek Zij namen het woord portretteert schrijver en literatuurcriticus Margot Dijkgraaf verschillende Franse schrijfsters uit de 18de tot de 21ste eeuw. De vrouwen, van Simone de Beauvoir tot Françoise Sagan of George Sand, waren allen zeer rebels en tegendraads. Daarmee past dit boek goed bij het thema van de Boekenweek 2020 ‘rebellen en dwarsdenkers’, die op 7 maart van start gaat.
