After Corporal Punishment was offered to star in a cartoon and toyline from Hasbro, Julian fired him, and was unable to get a job anywhere in wrestling, so Hasbro killed the deal. Hercules Harris struggles with the new African gimmick put on him by Julian Cain, Leroy Brown is told he needs to get surgery if he ever wants to wrestle again, and the Tarzan Kid paid off his gambling debts by working jobs for the Dragoni crime family. After a red hot 1984, Daniel Hawkins bought SCW and the VBS time slot from Julian Cain for a million dollars. Jesse James took his angle with Jimmy Buck to the next level with an in-ring confrontation and Tiger Warren & Brick Sawyer have been terrorizing more people outside the ring then in the ring, throughout All-South. After Corporal Punishment secured a deal with Hasbro toys, Julian Cain was so enraged he did this without him, he fired him, inadvertently killing his deal with Hasbro. After being cast out from All-South Wrestling after being revealed as a fake Angel brother, Kenny West was given a second chance with Krusher’s Heartland Wreslting out of St. Louis, and Nelly Gotch finally convinced his father Charlie to give Buddy a second chance, but acted too late as Hollywood Melrose was already in New York, being courted by Julian Cain. After revealing to Charlie Gotch he wanted to retire, Buddy Melrose was promptly fired despite 30 years of friendship. Jimmy Buck had his first in-ring confrontation with a wrestler when Jesse James saved a woman for a post-match attack from Buck. In the dressing room, Jimmy tipped off Vladimir Rykoff about a movie opportunity for the newest Rocky movie. After finding out Michael Angel was gay after Empire-Mania, Julian Cain scrapped any plans of Angel taking Thor’s spot as the face of the EWF, and Beau Riggs was moved into a mid-card program in Southeast Championship Wrestling with Beautiful Barry Lovelace and Miss Kitty by Booker, Jesse James. After being exposed as a fraud, Raphael Angel fled All-South for Heartland Pro-wrestling hoping for a second chance at becoming a star in America. Jimmy Buck proposed to Jesse James the idea of becoming a wrestler for SCW to get both of them publicity, by wrestling women. Thor Hansen was on the Eddie Carr show promoting his motion picture debut in co-starring role on Rambo, while headlining across the country with Killian Kavanagh. Jesse James asked the Southern Rebels to postpone their return to All-South Wrestling to help the Carolina Wrestling Association in his quest to build a Territory that can compete with Julian Cain’s Empire. Following a potentially fatal backstage fight, AMW’s North American champion Goliath went back to Japan and destroyed the belt, forcing Charlie Gotch to fire him and vacate the title. Meanwhile the other half of their 1984 headlining feud, Buddy Melrose retired from the ring, after suffering a cardiac arrest in a match with Goliath. Charlie did not take the decision well, and fired and disowned his long-time best friend and ally. Julian Cain fired EWF’s official “patriot” Corporal Punishment after he inadvertently pissed off Julian by securing a high-profile toy and cartoon deal with Hasbro that was not brokered by the Empire. At Empire-Mania, Madonna’s manager, Rob D’Zima told "Diamond" Donny Gold he’d been selected to be Madonna’s boytoy for the evening, until his match ran long postponing her live performance and causing her to be booed. After the awful publicity and reputation dogging the wrestling industry from the ABC News Exposed report, Julian concocted a plan for a project to provide the distraction they needed to distinguish themselves from the rest of the industry. Jimmy Buck’s initial angle of wrestling women has been getting over, and they’ve taken that angle on the road at house shows throughout the Southeast, where all the SCW acts are really starting to catch on. To get them out of the corner they painted themselves into last year, Peyton Thomas and Burt Ironside made “Pretty Boy” Willie Dean their champion in All-South Wrestling, who has ended up holding onto that title ever since, as there hasn’t been anyone else for that spot. The guys from the Meat Machine were drafted by the heads of the Alliance, and split off to various parts of the country, after being trained by Prince Abdullah Akbar, but not before vowing to always be friends no matter where their careers took them, and to always be the Meat Machine! While no one has taken any real action since despite attendance possibly being hurt by the controversy, Julian is considering just going with it, and owning it. Jimmy Buck’s wrestling debut on WVBS taking on a woman, was a big hit that got him instant heat with the fans. Thor Hansen filmed his first movie, a major co-starring role beside Sylvester Stallone in Rambo! After Corporal Punishment revealed he got himself a dream deal with Hasbro Toys, Julian Cain fired him, and Hercules Harris wasn’t pleased to hear Julian’s idea to abandon his career-long Hercules gimmick to be a generic racist stereotype of an African. After Prince Abdullah refused to shoot on Thor Hansen, despite Charlie Gotch promising citizenship for his family trapped in Iran, through his government connections, Abby was disgraced and blackballed from the Alliance by Gotch, and fired by Julian Cain. The Prince stumbled on seven musclebound bouncers from a bar in Oshkosh, and had the idea to train them to be wrestlers, as his ticket back into the business. And while the wrestling world deals with that Krusher Krawcyk is dealing with something much worse as he’s being sued for $2 million dollars for striking Michael Sluck during that report. "Hollywood" Buddy Melrose is on the mend, while juggling such visitors as Thor Hansen and the Gotch family, and Criss Stanley struggles to learn how to wrestle, while being the punching bag for the Meat Machine. Corporal Punishment gets the offer of a lifetime from the Hasbro toy company, while Bobby Lee Rivers and Davey Boy Givens continue to develop as a team and as friends as an interesting new act for Southeast Championship Wrestling, which also saw Jimmy Buck make his WVBS debut promising to wrestle his very first match, against a mystery opponent. And finally Charlie Gotch called old friend and World Japan Wrestling owner Mikasa to tell him Goliath was stripped of the AMW title and he needed to return the belt. After failing as a fake Angel Brother, Raphael Angel was fired from All-South Wrestling by Burt Ironside, and the bomb was dropped, as ABC News Exposed, featured a full-blown expose on pro-wrestling being fake, that the entire country watched on TV. In his efforts to combat Julian while building up the hottest pound for pound territory in the country, Jesse has been looking to add fresh outside talent. Not only bringing Donny back, but traveling the country to find wrestlers in the most unusual of places. Vanilla mid-carder David Givens was paired up with Bobby Rivers, a guy who’s been out of the business for a year after getting beat up in a barfight in front of wrestling fans. They were sent to the flea market to buy bandanas for some kind of a rock’n’roll gimmick Jesse concocted. Two guys very unsure this’ll work, but too desperate at this stage to object. Empire-Mania finished off 1984 as the biggest and most successful show in wrestling history, which brought more attention to the sport than ever before. Including unwanted attention in the form of a consumer reporter for ABC, who started putting together a major story, to take wrestling down. And while the heads of the world wrestling alliance will always bicker and squabble, they are more unified than ever in dealing with THE common threat of threats in Julian Cain’s EWF and his war against all of them, and how to stop him. Previously on the "Kings of the Ring", Charlie Gotch's decision to finally turn Thor Hanson babyface was too little too late as Thor no-showed AMW to make his debut for Empire State after Prince Abdullah beat Dan Sanders for the ESWF title in Julian’s first show in enemy Territory, Chicago, AMW’s biggest town. Turns out Thor was only one of the major stars that Julian Cain stole, but the real prize was revealed as securing a deal with current WWA World Champion "Diamond" Donny Gold! Also the loyalty of the Greek and Sal Spinelli to Julian were put to the test, we saw out the fallout of Bobby Rivers’ fight at the bar, and the identity of the enforcer that Burt paid a fortune to, to resolve this. Punishment for all involved in the bar fight, including another match, much different from what we’d seen before, in All-South. Julian Cain had an eventful and disturbing meeting with TV Executives and we saw the specifics of Julian’s plan and what he’s willing to sacrifice, and how far reaching it was and the names of all the wrestlers he got to jump to Empire. We also peeked into Donny Gold’s personal life, and Nigel Davies discovered something crucial about Julian Cain, we saw Charlies action to counter Julian Cain’s first show in Chicago, with AMW and Empire going head to head in the “The Chi-Town Rumble”.
