Kerouacs Cruising | Where Off-Grid Living Meets Soulful Awakening · James & Cara Kerouac
Show Notes
What do you do when cave tours are booked and mountain roads are closed by snow? You find the beauty hidden elsewhere. In this episode, we share our first big stop on the road trip north: Great Basin National Park. From BLM camping at Sacramento Pass to sparkling quartzite boulders, Nevada surprised us at every turn.
Join us as we explore Nevada’s best-kept secret: Great Basin National Park. We’ll talk about camping at Sacramento Pass, navigating Las Vegas traffic with a trailer, the joys (and challenges) of traveling with dogs, and why Nevada earns the title of America’s most mountainous state.
Though we missed the Lehman Cave tours and the scenic Wheeler Peak drive due to snow, we discovered Strawberry Creek, breathtaking views of Wheeler Peak, and some of the most beautiful rock formations we’ve ever seen. Plus, hear why Nevada’s highways and BLM campgrounds deserve a big shout-out.
