Gordon, who originally hails from Ireland, has been in Berlin for seven years, lured by history and literature. “I just loved it,” she says. “I just felt I belonged.” She hasn’t shied away from incorporating her Irish roots into her music, bringing in The Pogues’ frontman Shane MacGowan to produce her “Before the Sunset Ends” EP, recording in Ireland, and releasing her single “Mother” in support of the recent vote to legalize abortion in the country.
