Show Notes
Paul Townend eclipsed legendary jockey Pat Taaffe when claiming his fifth Cheltenham Gold Cup aboard Gaelic Warrior last week, to the delight of Irish punters.
The Cork native (35) and Kilkenny resident also became the first rider to saddle the Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle (Lossiemouth) and Queen Mother Champion Chase (Il Etait Temps) victors at the same meeting, assuring himself a special place in National Hunt history.
Between dozens and dozens of selfie and autograph requests, Paul spoke to KCLR News in Leighlinbridge about the greatest week of his remarkable career.
