Severe storms, including tornadoes and large hail, are impacting the Kansas City metro area this evening. Tornado warnings are in effect for Liberty, Excelsior Springs, and Glenaire until 7:45 p.m., with a tornado watch for multiple counties in Kansas and Missouri until midnight. Several severe thunderstorm warnings have brought winds up to 60 mph and large hail, including tennis ball and apple-sized chunks. Storms are expected to continue through the night, with possible showers and a slight chance for more thunderstorms after 4 a.m., along with cooler temperatures in the fifties and sixties.
