Show Notes
Soccer fans in Kansas City, get ready for the KC Currents home match at CPKC Stadium this Saturday, but streetcar service wont be available yet. The new Riverfront extension, set to open in May, will connect the stadium, Berkley Riverfront Park, and the Missouri River to the main streetcar line. In the meantime, crews are testing train controls and overhead power lines, with practice runs starting in April. Ridership has surged since the Main Street extension, with over 8,000 daily averages in February. A sculptural pavilion and pedestrian bridge are also in the works, all set to be completed by the World Cup.
