Gwendolyn Grant, the first female president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, is set to retire in March 2027 after 25 years in the top role and 31 years with the organization. Shes been praised for her transformative leadership, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to racial justice issues. Grant will stay on to help choose and train her successor, with Kansas City Councilwoman Melissa Robinson joining as president and chief operating officer.
