Experience History: Freedom Plane Exhibit at National WW1 Museum Extended Hours

The National World War One Museum and Memorial in Kansas City has extended its hours to accommodate the popular Freedom Plane exhibit, featuring key founding documents from the National Archives. The exhibit, which ends on Sunday, now runs until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, allowing for an additional 300 visitors each day. Free tickets are available twice daily at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., but advance spots have sold out, so plan accordingly. Crowds have been large, with around 1,000 visitors daily, and lines can stretch up to two hours. The exhibit showcases treasures like the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Paris, and the Senates early version of the Bill of Rights. Kansas City is the first stop on the national tour, which will hit eight locations in total. Once the journey ends, the documents will return to secure storage for years.
