Bradford pear trees, beloved for their spring blooms, are now deemed invasive in Kansas City. They outcompete native plants and disrupt wildlife habitats. The Missouri Department of Conservation and Missouri Invasive Plant Council offer a tree swap program: remove a Bradford pear and get a native tree sapling for free. Register by April 16th and pick up your new tree on April 21st.
