Blue Springs City Council Election: Five Candidates Vie for Three Seats

In the upcoming April 7th election, five candidates are competing for three seats on the Blue Springs City Council. Districts one and two are particularly contested, with Jesse Grimm challenging incumbent Jerry Kaylor in District one, and Byron Craddolph facing off against Brian Markworth in District two. Nick Brummel is running unopposed in District three.

The election board is open for early voting from March 24th to April 6th. Voters can cast their ballots at the election board in Independence or at Woods Chapel Community of Christ in Lees Summit.

Candidates are focusing on issues such as affordability, infrastructure improvements, downtown revitalization, housing for young families, and increasing police and park services without overbuilding. Grimm is advocating for fairer taxes, Craddolph is pushing for blight cleanup, and Markworth is calling for local job creation in projects.

Brummel, who was appointed to the council last year, is running unopposed after selling his landscaping business to focus on his council duties. For more information, visit jcebmo.org.
