Martin Luther King, Jr. famously said, "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." There are those who have done their nefarious best to tie a knot in the moral arc. We have been at this fight for equality long enough to know that the arc won't bend itself. WE need to bend the arc. Because justice - equal justice - matters.
