NY District Attorney Trump Organization Indictment Watch - First Criminal Indictment Expected Soon. Won't likely be the Last

An alarming headline in Politico indicated that Trump's lawyers are saying New York District Attorney Cy Vance won't indict Donald Trump. However, Trump's lawyers then qualified their claim by saying that DA Vance told them Trump won't be indicted in the FIRST indictment expected to be handed down by the grand jury, but that the criminal investigation in ongoing. When prosecutors investigate large RICO/conspiracy/criminal organization cases, they almost always start with relatively modest indictments designed to leverage cooperation from the smaller fish. Prosecutors then build the case toward the larger criminal fish with a series of what are called superseding indictments. So do not expect to see Donald Trump indicted in the early rounds of NY indictments.
