What's the main takeaway from the latest Trump family development? The Washington Post reports: "Lara Trump drops out of contention for U.S. Senate seat for Florida." Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this reporting is this: "President-elect Donald Trump had indicated to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis that he wanted his daughter-in-law to be appointed." This raises the question: Did DeSantis refuse to abide by Trump's wishes regarding appointing his daughter-in-law to the position? And if so, what does this tell us about Trump's grip on the Republican Party?
