Chad O'Melia was murdered by Bryn Spejcher that is not in dispute. What is definitely in dispute is the reason why Ventura County DA Erik Nasarenko lowered the original charge of murder filed by former DA Greg Totten. Lowering the charge to involuntary manslaughter and having Spejcher plead not guilty is the latest insult. Her jury trial begins October 23rd, 2023.
