Despite solid training and a good taper, Joe felt completely empty on the bike and run. He breaks down the race from a decent non-wetsuit swim to a sluggish ride and a run that never got going. He suspects illness or the effects of altitude might be to blame and shares the frustration of doing everything right but still having it fall apart on race day.
